When clients ask for a bald fade, cutting to the scalp can be an inefficient and uncomfortable experience when blades cause nicks and scrapes on the skin. The Wahl Vapor™ aims to revolutionise and simplify the process of achieving perfect bald fades. Everything about the Vapor™ has been designed to perfect seamless blending and fading.

The biggest innovation was made with the adjustable balding blade that allows you to go from bald to fade without needing to swap blades or guard. This is called the F32 FADEOUT™ blade, and it provides rapid precision. The blade consists of 32 fine ball-pointed teeth (double the teeth than standard blades) that smoothly glide on the skin to cut over fine hairs. Skin is protected from cuts and cutting is done even closer to the skin – win-win. Use the zero-gap adjustable mechanism for even closer cuts. Made from high-carbon steel and coated with PVD chrome and a black diamond-like coating, this blade is resistant to rust and remains sharper up to four times longer compared to standard steel blades.

To support this innovative blade, the Vapor™ is powered by a 8,000 RPM motor. No matter the hair type or texture, adaptive speed control maintains a constant RPM throughout the cutting experience. On a full charge, it can run for 2.5 hours on its battery, and charges fully in 60 minutes. At only 280 grams, it is one of the lightest clippers in its class.

In 1911, Leo J. Wahl discovered the electromagnetic motor. He realized that he could use this kind of motor to make a medical massager for his uncle, J. Frank Wahl. As a student, Leo designed the massager and Frank began manufacturing them in a small plant in Sterling, Illinois.

Leo began selling this invention to barbershops. He recognized a need for improving barber tools by using this type of motor. In 1919 he took over the business and founded Wahl Clipper Corporation. Since then, Wahl has been the leader in the hair grooming industry.
